Sampling and Sampling Distributions Theory

Sampling is a process of selecting the sample. "Sampling selects a part of population of interest represent the whole." The idea of sampling "data collection" is to study part in order to gain information about the whole. Data are often produced by sampling a population of people or things. It is important to obtained "good data" i.e., representative. Since the inferences can only be as good as the data. It is not easy to guarantee that a particular sampling method will produce good data. therefore, only sampling method will be used that are unbiased.

The theory which explains the relationship between samples and population from which those samples are drawn is referred to as sampling theory. An understanding of sampling theory will rely heavily on probability theory.
