The Hole In The layer Shrinked.
Ozone Layer had been a big issue and discussion for scientists and researchers in the past decades. The hole got more and more attention and brought the world to think on the environmental concerns. Recently a Meteorological organization discussing update condition, predicts a pattern that the hole in ozone layer above Antarctica will shrink. The observation made showed that within 70 years the layer will show positive results in healing.
The layer “hole” usually opens over the Antarctic in August to September. Read article on ozone to get a better understanding of what the hole is actually and which define ozone layer. The overall opening record was 10.8m square miles and it happened in the year 2000. This year (2006) it reached only 10.4m square miles due to the cold climate. The scientists will be able to detect that is it actually beginning the decrease in size after about 20 year’s of observations.
The healing process is good news but we still have to protect our environment and be a helping hand in the shrinking process. Pollution can cause an increase especially the awareness of climate change should be raised to take positive steps to low the effects of ozone openings.
