Survey or Sampling
A survey is a sampling of facts or opinion that is used to estimate how an entire group would respond. In sample survey, a subgroup of a large population is questioned on a set of topics. the researcher simply asks the participants ( subjects) to answer some questions.
The result from a sample survey are used as if they are representative of the large population, which they will be if the sample is chosen correctly and if those selected cooperate in responding. Typical business examples are attitude surveys and marketing business opportunities. Managers can create data by conducting surveys. A survey is a representative sampling of facts or opinions that is used to approximate what a complete collection and analysis might reveals.
There are two types of errors, that can occur in conducting a survey. One type, sampling error and second type, non sampling errors. Sampling errors can occur only in a sample survey, non sampling error can occur both a census and sample survey. Margin of error is possible difference we allow between the result obtained and what we would get if we could check the entire population.
